Matlab Instructions
1. Create a MathWorks account if you do not already have one by going to https://www.mathworks.com/accesslogin/createProfile.do and fill out the form that pops up. It should be similar to the one below.
2. Confirm your age and continue.
3. Fill out any Customization Information you wish to and Continue.
4. Go to your e-mail inbox for the e-mail address you specified in Step 1 for the verification link.
5. You will need to click on the link on the e-mail you receive from mathworks.com. It should be titled something similar to “Verify the e-mail address for your MathWorks Account”
6. After clicking on the link, you should be taken to a page that looks like the one below.
7. You have now created your MathWorks account.
8. Go to the License Center: https://www.mathworks.com/licensecenter and login if necessary.
9. On the License Center page, you will need to click the “Add License” button, as shown.
10. This will call up a window with the “License Number” already chosen. You must change it to “Activation Key” before continuing.
11. It will ask you for an Activation Key. Provide the one that was included in your instructions.
12. If it accepts the code, you should see an “Association Complete” box, as shown.
13. Now you will need to actually download the software for your computer. Go to: https://www.mathworks.com/web_downloads/ and click on the “Download” option.
14. Choose the version of the software you need. By default, the option presented will be the most recent, but older versions are available on the right.
15. Note that if you need a different OS version, this is the page at which you can choose to “Download installer for a different platform” if you need to choose Mac or Linux versions.
16. Once the program is running, it should display a box similar to the one below.
17. Read the License Agreement and choose “Yes” to continue, or “No” to cancel installation.
18. You will now need to log in with your MathWorks Account that you created in step 1.
19. You will then need to select the license you wish to activate. For most people, there will only be one option. If you have multiple options, choose the one that is similar to the one below.
20. Click next to continue to the Folder Selection. The default appears below. It is recommended that you do not change it unless you have a specific need to.
21. Select the products from the list that appears. To select/deselect everything in the list, click the checkbox next to “Product”. Once you have made your choices, click “Next” to continue.
22. Choose what shortcuts you wish to have added to your computer and click “Next”.
23. Matlab will display a summary of the installation it is about to perform. Click “Back” if you wish to make changes, or “Install” to begin the installation.
24. The download and install will begin. Please be aware this may take several hours.
25. When the installation is complete, you will need to activate Matlab.
26. Matlab will display an explanation of the Activation process. Click “Next” to continue.
27. You will need to provide your Windows User Name. There will be a default name; it should be the name of the user you are currently logged in to your system as. If you want a different user to have access to the program, you would need to change it here. Note that only one user on the computer will have access to Matlab.
28. The next screen will show you the information that is about to be sent to MathWorks. If it is correct, click “Confirm”, otherwise, click “Back” and make any necessary changes.
29. The next screen should just confirm that your activation is now complete. Click “Finish” and you should now have Matlab installed on your computer, and may begin using it.
